- Governor O’Malley’s Inauguration: This past Wednesday, we celebrated the inauguration of Governor Martin O’Malley as he begins his second four-year term in office. On a beautiful sunny day on Lawyers Mall in front of the Maryland State House, legislators, staffers, and others watched as Governor O’Malley, in his inaugural address, encouraged Marylanders to work together towards our shared goals.
- State Budget: Today, the Governor released his budget for Fiscal Year 2012- and his office delivered the three volume document to my staff. I’ll be learning more about the budget in the days to come, and I encourage those who are interested to read the proposed budget (here).
- House Judiciary Committee:
E-Citation Project: As a new member on the House Judiciary Committee, I was briefed on the implementation of e-citations, which are saving police and court resources by allowing officers to upload traffic citations electronically. The courts are examining opportunities to file documents electronically in civil cases as well.
